file photoBATESVILLE, Ind. — The City of Batesville will be holding the “Deck Your House” Contest.Batesville resident Ryan Stauffer, 11, created the contest and encourages homeowners to display Christmas lights and be recognized for their efforts, as well as support the local food pantry.In order to participate in the contest, you need to submit a photo of your home along with 5 canned goods or non-perishable items to the Memorial Building by noon on Wednesday, November 30.To be eligible to participate, your home must be within the city limits, and visible from the street.Participants will be announced on December 1 at the Batesville Tree Lighting, and voting will be open from December 1 through December 16 at 6 PM.1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be announced on December 19.
CLEAR HILLS, A.B. – The Alberta Government has lifted the Voluntary Evacuation Alert for Clear Hills County.The alert has been lifted due to snow that fell on the fire overnight. An evacuation preparedness alert remains in place for areas north of Highway 64 and west of secondary Highway 726 in Clear Hills County.At this time all the evacuation alerts and orders remain in place in B.C.- Advertisement -The Siphon Creek fire was last reported to be 41,000 hectares in size with 12,000 of that in Alberta.
