Police Seek Suspect in Ocean City Robbery Attempt

first_imgRobbery suspect shown in surveillance video from the Super Fresh grocery store in Ocean City on Friday, June 19.Investigators are looking for tips in a search for a suspect who tried to rob the Super Fresh pharmacy in Ocean City on Friday afternoon.Ocean City police responded to a call from Super Fresh (the grocery store between Eighth and Ninth streets on West Avenue) at 12:31 p.m. June 19 for a reported armed robbery.It was reported that the suspect shown in a photograph here allegedly told the employee working the pharmacy that he had a gun and demanded that they hand over prescription medications. When the employee was slow to respond, the suspect made a few more statements and then fled the store without receiving any medications.The suspect is described as a white male wearing a white Phillies cap, light blue shirt, dark shorts. He is approximately 5’10” tall, heavy-set and with brown eyes.The suspect is believed to have left the parking garage driving a dark-colored, 4-door, medium-size vehicle (see photo here).The investigation is being conducted by; The Cape May County Prosecutors Office and the Ocean City Police Department. Detour routes will be posted starting Monday, likely using Bittersweet, 23, and Capital.The crossing is expected to reopen on April 23.
