first_imgHow many boys have we sent down the river?How many came back to lead us home?How many have fought and died for us to be free?How will the next generation be shown?The prince of Egypt grew up in pharaoh’s houseAt his coming of age, he learned the truthHe asked the man, whom he called “father”, aboutWhy his people were slaves,That he saw making bricks since the days of his youthThe man said that the burden was on his shouldersTo raise an empire from the depths of the sandsAnd marry it with the glory and splendour of the NileTo make it into a respected and prosperous landOn the backs of people who were working in piles:The chosen people who were doomed to be slavesAnd the burden was on the shoulders of the slavesTo carry sand, mud and straw to the pyramids in single fileAnd build them high into the skyWhile down in the dust, their souls were engravedThe God of Israel heard the peoples dispirited cry,And freedom slowly unfolded in the hearts of the brave…How many boys have we sent down the river?How many came back to lead us home?How many have fought and died for us to be free?How will the next generation be shown?It’s the burden of the emperorAgainst the trials of MosesIt’s the word of the CreatorAgainst the idols of manThe workers of iniquityAnd the faith of the chosenFormed our unique world history,And now here we standHere we are, born to be rulers:To uphold the principles of the holiest people in the universe,Against the immorality of the oppressorsAnd the wickedness that they plannedIt first started with the slaughter of young brown boys –Population control, they were cast into the river –Lest the Hebrews should grow mightier than the children of HamBut Moses was saved so we could walk through the desertAway from Egypt, to claim a better, new promised landSo the truths that we hold to be evident and righteousWritten on stone tables by God’s own hand,Served as a guide, a light, to right usAnd lead us into His kingdom with Christ at His right handSo it’s the walk of the faithfulAgainst the talk of the faithless,The mark of the beast versus the seal of the Lord;The ark of the covenant and the dove of peaceVersus the gods of the global elite and the eagle of warHow many boys have we sent down the river?How many came back to lead us home?How many have fought and died for us to be free?How will the next generation be shown?So Moses’s real Father came to him in the hillsAnd revealed Himself in a bright burning bushHe told Moses to go and free the children IsraelFrom the hold of pharaoh, no matter how tough it lookedThe Most High was with him;The rod and the staff, lined up on the horizonBetween future and past –Was dipped into the sea, which caused a great chasm –From shore to horizon,So they walked down a dry pathFrom shore to horizon,From past to future:Without a threat from Poseidon,Into freedom at lastInto the depths they went riding,His army washed up in pursuit:But pharoah survivedOnly to die in old age,Shamed by the truth and mocked by his wrathThere can be miraclesWe can achieveWe will get there, somehow…Somehow, we willOnly if we have faith and obedience to believe…How many more boys must go down the river?How many will come back to lead us home?How many will fight and die for us to be free?And how will the next generation be shown?Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)last_img read more
