ATPI Group launches Australian operations

first_imgSource = e-Travel Blackboard: G.A International travel management company ATPI Group has opened its first Australian office in Sydney, commencing its Australian operationsThe move to open an office in Australia is a strategic one, taking advantage of Australia’s proximity to and role in a booming Asia Pacific market, ATPI Group chief executive Graham Ramsey told e-Travel Blackboard.“We believe that with our 44 offices in 26 countries, you can’t ignore Australia,” Mr Ramsey told e-Travel Blackboard.“The Australian market is essential as a hub,” he said.“You can’t operate in the region without representation in Australia.”Speaking at the Sydney launch last week Mr Ramsey said, “Our clients have long been asking us to support them in Australia, so we are excited to now be able to offer our specialist and unique services, and I see great opportunities in the Australian market.”Its Australian operations, headed up by managing director Debra Bourne, will focus on corporate travel and the marine and energy sectors, areas in which the company has had global success.“The positioning we bring to the market is unique,” Ms Bourne, who joined ATPI Group in January after 15 years with global distribution system Amadeus, told e-Travel Blackboard.“ATPI has a unique value proposition for both its corporate and specialist sector clients with a strong customer service culture, and access to leading edge travel technology to support both the  travel consultants’ and clients’ needs.  “We have in-house development teams developing technology to make corporate travel easy with tracking, database and management tools.”According to Mr Ramsey, the opportunities in the region come from expected economic growth from business travel and travel to work whether that be lawyers or ship crews.The company, who will next year do all of Heineken’s corporate travel to the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, hope to establish themselves in Australia and the region as a “robust travel management company”, winning new clients and business and providing for “safe, efficient travel”.last_img
